Summary:
This position will provide product design and product development leadership within Infinera's Optical Engineering Team which is focused on next the generation transponder/muxponder product family.This position will serve as the Technical Leader for the Optical Development Team. The individual will own the translation of system requirements to detailed line card architecture along with peer engineering groups. Responsibilities include full integration of such a line card with performance optimization and quality assurance, performing design validation/testing to verify module function and system performance, often times assisted by other engineers in the department. Finally, this engineer will serve as a mentor and role model for other departmental engineers. Requirements MS or PhD degree in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related majorsMust have 5 or more years of recent experience in Coherent Optical Communication (Transceivers/Transponders)Must have 10
years of optical engineering development experienceMust be willing to work in the office 5 days a week in the San Jose, CA areaDeep technical competency in Coherent optical communication technology, digital signal processing, and high speed optical signal generation and detectionFamiliarity with standard industry design validation processes and product life cycleFamiliarity with optical communication systems and linear and nonlinear impairments and tradeoff, such as cross-talk, OSNR, chromatic dispersion, PMD, SPM, XPM, FWM, etc.Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlinesGood English communication skillsGood people skills, team playerUnfortunately, we will not be able to sponsor any VISAs for this role.#LI-SR2Infinera is an equal opportunity employer. Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Electrical Engineering, Hardware DevelopmentEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
