Workload Characterization and Performance Analyst

Job Description We are seeking a talented and experienced professional with expertise in workload characterization and performance analysis to join our team.
As a Workload Characterization and Performance Analyst, you will play a crucial role in understanding and deriving network traffic and other requirements based on performance analysis.
Your hands-on experience in conducting proof of concepts (PoCs) with sample workloads and/or simulating system performance will be highly valuable in this role.
Responsibilities:
Workload Characterization:
Conduct in-depth analysis of workloads and applications to understand their resource requirements, performance characteristics, and network traffic patterns.
Performance Analysis:
Perform comprehensive performance analysis of systems, applications, and networks to identify bottlenecks, scalability limitations, and areas for optimization.
Requirement Derivation:
Derive network traffic and other infrastructure requirements based on workload characterization and performance analysis.
Proof of Concept (PoC):
Design and execute PoCs with sample workloads to evaluate system performance, validate scalability, and assess the impact on network infrastructure.
System Performance Simulation:
Utilize simulation tools and methodologies to predict system behavior, evaluate performance under different scenarios, and provide insights for capacity planning.
Collaborative Approach:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, and developers, to gather workload data, understand requirements, and propose performance optimization strategies.
Documentation and Reporting:
Prepare detailed reports, performance metrics, and documentation to effectively communicate findings, recommendations, and performance analysis results.
Qualifications:
Educational Background:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in workload characterization, performance analysis, and infrastructure requirements derivation.
Workload Characterization:
Strong expertise in analyzing diverse workloads and applications, understanding their resource requirements, and identifying performance patterns.
Performance Analysis Tools:
Proficiency in using performance analysis tools, such as profilers, trace analysis tools, monitoring systems, and simulation software (e.
g.
, SPEC, Simics, NS-3).
Network Traffic Analysis:
Experience in analyzing network traffic patterns, latency, throughput, and bandwidth requirements to optimize network design and performance.
Proof of Concept (PoC)
Experience:
Hands-on experience in designing and executing PoCs with sample workloads to evaluate system performance and scalability.
System Performance Simulation:
Familiarity with simulation methodologies and tools to predict system behavior, evaluate performance, and perform capacity planning.
Strong Analytical Skills:
Ability to analyze complex performance data, identify performance bottlenecks, and propose optimization strategies.
Communication and Collaboration:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings in a clear and concise manner.
Continuous Learning:
A proactive approach to staying updated on the latest performance analysis methodologies, tools, and emerging technologies.
