Network and Applications Resident Support Engineer

Job Description:
o Deliver onsite technical service and support for customers in Automated (scripted) production test lab.
o Help in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and debugging computer networking equipment.
o Customer system installation and training on Spirent test equipment.
o Promote and educate customers on Spirent support processes and SLAs.
o Keep stakeholders (e.g. sales, customer, technical peers, and management) informed of actions, and progress on technical product issues.
o Respond to customer inquiries via telephone, online networks and email.
o Communicate with Spirent product teams regarding bugs and proactively conduct follow-ups to ensure fixes are received and tested by customers.
o Advise management on product development issues arising from product problems identified through customer service and product experiences.
o Process and maintain pertinent information within our support CRM systems.
o Candidates must demonstrate a minimum of 4 years customer service experience and 4 or more years working in at least 5 of the following: technologies: ATM, Frame Relay, LAN/WAN, Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, BGP, OSPF, ISIS, DHCP, IGMP, MPLS, TCP/IP, VoIP, QoS, routers, switches, IPSec, IPv4/6, FTP, HTTP, SIP, Steaming Media, network security (firewalls, IPS/IDS, etc.).
o Previous telecom/networking test equipment experience (Smartbits, Adtech, Spirent TestCenter, Avalanche, Ixia, HP, Agilent, Shenick).
o Programming skills in TCL, a significant plus.
o Excellent verbal and written communication and troubleshooting skills are required.
o Junos and or Cisco certifications are highly desirable.
o Must be able to handle a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
o Strong work ethic and ability to work well in a team environment required.
o Must have a valid driver's license and a suitable vehicle that will not only transport the person to a customer's location in the Sunnyvale area, but also occasionally large pieces of network equipment (up to 13U in size).

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
