Yahoo currently has an opening position for Software Development Engineer, Systems at our office in Sunnyvale, CA. Duties: Design, build, implement, modify, test, debug and deploy software systems, large-scale infrastructure platforms and network services that are the foundation of multiple Yahoo properties and applications. Responsible for performance, reliability, availability, scalability and security. Services are delivered to applications through standard and proprietary protocols and behavior may be customized via complete APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) and/or web services. Work on client side technologies, and research the possibilities of the web and in particular the Search domain. Work closely with user experience designers, product managers, and other engineers to develop new features for Yahoo Web Search in a highly collaborative environment. Interpret design and functional requirements into production level code. Drive innovation in UI through proof of concepts and prototyping. Adhere to best practices and standards in web technologies.
REQUIREMENTS: Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field and 1 year of experience in job offered or a computer-related occupation.
Education or Experience must include:
1. CSS, HTML & JavaScript.
2. A-Grade browsers, W3C DOM methods and properties, cross-browser development techniques, and browser degradation strategies.
3. performance of website.
4. agile methodologies and software development life cycle.
5. DHTML, Ajax/JavaScript, XML, JSON, web services API, and HTML5
6. Experience in following areas: Apache, Unix.
7. Experience in Javascript framework like YUI or jQuery
8. software lifecycle tools: version control tools like SVN or Git and bug tracking system like Bugzilla or JIRA
9. Object Oriented Programming languages: C++, JAVA
10. Computer Science Foundation experience: data structures and algorithms

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
