Yahoo currently has a Product Manager position available at our office in Sunnyvale, CA. DUTIES: Parse, organize, and mine user data. Work in partnership with design, engineering, and product teams to craft experiments that help validate or invalidate product hypotheses and inform product decisions. Perform quantitative analysis, data mining, and statistical modeling to analyze user data and derive valuable insights from data. Administer periodic analysis and reporting of key business metrics and track trends and opportunities over time. Build and maintain reports and dashboards to monitor product performance. Identify data quality issues and their root causes. Work with engineering to fix issues and device periodic audits to reduce future occurrences. No direct reports.
REQUIREMENTS: Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a computer-related occupation. In the alternative, Employer will accept Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, followed by 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a computer-related occupation. Any suitable combination of education, experience or training is acceptable.
Experience must include:
1. Statistical analysis, quantitative and predictive analytics, multivariate testing, and optimization algorithms;
2. Accessing data, including using SQL, and manipulating data using Excel or Python;
3. Data visualization tools, including Tableau or MicroStrategy;
4. Machine learning and data mining models;
5. Mobile application analytics, including event instrumentation, data collection via real-time and batch processing, and performance reporting across retention, growth, monetization, and lifetime values;
6. Database management experience with Postgres, Oracle, or Vertica;
7. Unstructured datastore experience with Hadoop and Hive;
8. Scripting experience with Perl, Python, or Shell;
9. Product experience with programmatic ingestion of big data through reporting APIs.
