Software Engineer - UI
Location: Sunnyvale CA
Your software engineering skills will play a critical role in the front-end development of next gen products. Successful candidates should have strong java coding expertise and interface development. Must have front-end development experience for enterprise applications/software development. This is not a website design position. You should be capable of creating and implementing user interface applications, as well as effectively collaborating with various engineering team members, UX designers, QA engineers, and other team members during all stages of development. You enjoy the challenge of doing whatever is necessary to scale our globally deployed network security solutions.
Primary
Responsibilities:
Develop, design , modify, and/or test software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products using Javascript, CSS, HTML5, Query, Ajax, JSON, Restful Web Services and/or Web2.0
Write, develop and maintain front-end code. Integrate software components into a fully functional software system
Use expert level knowledge of UI/UX concepts to support development, implementation, and execution of future and existing products
Use prior knowledge or experience with UI/web application frameworks such as Spring or Struts
Work as an effective team player across various teams both in the US and in India
Requirements:
BS Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field; or HS Diploma with 5 - 7 years related software development experience
Minimum 3 years experience in software development/engineering
J2SE professional experience in the area of TCP/IP MVC framework development for real time applications
Experience with Java API, including but not limited to collection, concurrency, locks, and multi-host synchronization
Knowledge in MVC, Struts, Servlets, JSP, ANT, XML, Restful Web Services, Eclipse, Junit, Jenkins, end to end integration and testing
Preferred (not required):
MS Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
Experience building high performance Java apps, and memory cached objects
Expertise with Java design patterns, OOP and OOD
Expertise in SQL, RDBMS and data warehouse, design patterns, JDBC
Experience in RHEL or equivalent Linux OS
Visual design experience and/or usability design experience
Demonstrated ability to excel in an Agile development environment
Excellent technical, analytical, written and verbal communication skills
