Yahoo currently has a Software Development Engineer, Systems position available at our office in Sunnyvale, CA . Duties: Working on projects of diverse scope and complexity, design, build, implement, modify, test, debug and deploy software systems, large-scale infrastructure platforms and network services that are the foundation of multiple Yahoo properties and applications. Responsible for performance, reliability, availability, scalability and security. Services are delivered to applications through standard and proprietary protocols and behavior may be customized via complete APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) and/or web services. Work in back-end development team on core functionality, APIs, and application logic. Work on new features, extending and maintaining capabilities, improving source code coverage by implementing unit and functional tests, improving reliability, or improving scalability and performance. Integrate with partners and prototype new ideas.
Requirements: Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field and 2 years of experience in job offered or a computer-related occupation.
Experience must include:
1. Minimum 2 years of experience in development and problem solving of complex software systems;
2. Large scalable distributed systems;
3. Caching, proxy, and storage layers;
4. Operating system internals and file systems;
5. Software Engineering processes, tools, methods, and test development or support;
6. Business documentation tools and methodologies;
7. Object-oriented programming, Object Oriented design, large-scale software architecture, networking and distributed systems, or UNIX development;
8. Version control systems including CVS, SVN, or git;
9. Maven and Continuous Integration;
10. Backend or server and client software development, including development in a Unix or Linux environment;
11. Development and debugging in C, C++, or Java.
Up to 25% travel required to various, unanticipated domestic and international locations.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
