Yahoo currently has a Software Development Engineer, Applications, Senior position available at our office in Sunnyvale, CA. Duties: Work on complex problems of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires in depth evaluation of various factors which may be difficult to define, design, build, implement, modify, test, debug and deploy applications for customer or partner facing products or internal users. Applications may include server based web applications and web services, rich browser based client applications (DHTML, Flash, CSS) and desktop based client applications. Primary focus is to develop application logic and/or user interface and ensure that the user experience is accessible, scalable, customizable, internationalized and also works across multiple browsers, platforms and devices. Collaborates in defining APIs/web services provided by the systems developers in order to integrate multiple platforms and technology components into the application. Will also design, build, implement, modify, test, debug and deploy software systems, large-scale infrastructure platforms and network services that are the foundation of multiple Yahoo properties and applications. Responsible for performance, reliability, availability, scalability and security. Services are delivered to applications through standard and proprietary protocols and behavior may be customized via complete APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) and/or web services. Help company take the next big leap in web publishing. Responsible for the infrastructure that hosts the web's most popular sites on earth for News, Sports, Finance and many others, visited by hundreds of millions of users every day. Focus on the unique and complex challenges that such large scale brings like massive content handling and storage, and world-class performance and resiliency. Enable personalized, social experiences across desktop and mobile environments alike, and build tools to edit and maintain it all.
Requirements: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field followed by 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or a computer-related occupation. In the alternative, employer will accept a Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field and 3 years of experience in job offered or a computer-related occupation.
Experience must include:
1. Programming Languages: JavaScript, PHP, C++ or JAVA
2. Experience with UNIX/LINUX
3. Experience with HTML5, CSS3 and emerging presentation technologies
4. Object-oriented software principles, design patterns and agile methodologies
5. Programming experience with large-scale, fault-tolerant, and distributed web architecture systems
6. Experience with relational databases and web services
7. Experience with test automation, release and build process

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
