Yahoo currently has a Storage Engineer, Principal position available at our office in Sunnyvale, CA. Duties: Build next generation platforms to provide storage back-ends for Yahoo Mail, Flickr, and the rest of Yahoo properties, used by more than half a billion people around the world. Identify new technologies to support Yahoos goals, identify target applications, and develop solutions. Perform design and implementation, and prepare operations team to deliver solutions at-scale. Advocate solutions to both technical and business audiences. Act as technical lead on projects. Collaborate with different teams to design and build solutions and tools. Document and implement best practices for storage technologies. Develop technologies and/or methods to improve SLAs, performance, and/or availability of environment. Develop initiatives to reduce failures, defects, and improve performance.
Requirements: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, followed by 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a computer-related occupation.
Experience must include:
1. UNIX system administration;
2. Architecture, design, and implementation of cross-disciplinary projects;
3. Infrastructure technologies, including network architecture;
4. Application design, monitoring, and process automation;
5. Storage and data protection technologies, including Block, NFS, RAID, file systems, and data protection; and
6. TCP/IP.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
