Copywriter Advertising & Marketing Jobs - Sunnyvale, CA at Geebo

Copywriter

Shipwire is an e-commerce order fulfillment company that unites technology and warehouse logistics to automate the shipping process, enabling businesses of all sizes to reach global markets. We were acquired by Ingram Micro in December 2013, but retain our start-up culture and mindset.

About the Job
Shipwire is looking for a copywriter to join our marketing team and help us polish our presentation of the Shipwire platform as we shift from targeting SMB to mid-market customers. You will take on copy and content writing and apply a unified voice across our many channels. You will be responsible for developing a writing style guide that accommodates our marketing language as well as support content, and you will ensure that it is adopted and executed accurately across the organization.
Content types will include, but are not limited to:
white papers, case studies, data sheets, blogs, and web copy.
Channels include our website, emails, press, partners, webinars, and more.

About you
You truly love writing as a means of communication and you have an obsession with language. You recognize and appreciate elegant, well-written copy and know how to create it. You spend time thinking about nuances like word choice and how it influences messaging. You are particular (to the point of annoying others) about details and consistency because you understand how these things contribute to a strong brand. When reading others' writing, you constantly scan for errors and inconsistencies and ask yourself questions like why they chose a particular format or whether the organizational structure is effective. Finally, you have experience as a copywriter (bonus points for experience writing for a technology company).

Responsibilities
Write industry-specific content:
white papers, case studies, data sheets, blogs, product releases, and web copy, from concept to final draft
Develop and adhere to a writing style guide and clear voice, support its adoption throughout the organization and particularly to our support documentation team
Identify and coordinate our partners and work with them to create content for third-party channels
Align assignments with lead generation and revenue goals
Support in areas of strategic engagement, social media, and blog initiatives

Requirements
Organized and articulate, with impeccable attention to detail
Superior writing and editing skills
Exceptional research skills
Proven knowledge of content development processes, including a portfolio of work
Ability to manage expectations on multiple projects with varying levels of priority
Interpersonal skills to support key stakeholders, including executives, product marketing, and third parties such as contractors and partners, as well as communication skills to translate between various groups
Demonstrated experience simplifying complex technical concepts to multiple constituents
Ability to consistently meet deadlines and take projects to completion
2-5 years experience working as a copywriter (background in advertising or journalism a plus, copywriting for a tech company a plus)
To better understand the Shipwire brand and current content, please refer to the content under the Looking for something more specific? section of our resource center and visit our blog.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
