Yahoo currently has a Software Quality Assurance Engineer, Senior position available at our office in Sunnyvale, CA.
DUTIES: Work on complex problems of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires in depth evaluation of various factors which may be difficult to define, develop quality standards for Yahoo products, certification & execution of software test plans & analysis of test results. Write test cases, develop automated tests, execute test cases and document results, and work closely with engineers and product managers while writing defect descriptions. Contribute to architecture, design and implementation of next-generation Yahoo User Data and Analytics platform. Support, design and develop J2EE Application to provide sophisticated Analytics and reporting tools. Optimize performance and troubleshoot difficult multi-threaded, distributed, multi-system related issues. Maintain coding and documentation standards, participate in code reviews, and be a critical member of the Yahoo engineering team.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field followed by 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or a computer-related occupation. In lieu of bachelors degree will accept 2 years of experience.
Experience must include:
1. At least 5 years of software development experience in a Unix environment
2. Delivering high-performance large, distributed, object-oriented client/server and web-based systems
3. At least 5 years of Java, and scripting language experience
4. At least 4 years of database experience
5. Oracle database systems
6. J2EE experience with EJB3, JMS, JMX, Active MQ
7. Building web services technologies: SOAP, XML-RPC, REST, JSON
8. Software engineering practices: unit testing, configuration management, and release management
9. Build tools such as Jenkins, Maven, or Ant
10. Continuous Delivery, SCRUM
11. Web Analytics or Search Engine Optimization
12. Hadoop framework.
Any suitable combination of training, education, or experience is acceptable.
