Intuitive Surgical Operations, Inc. has an opening for Voice Network Engineer in Sunnyvale, CA.
Duties: Deploy, support and upgrade the production of local area, wide area, and voice network infrastructure in Sunnyvale office and other worldwide locations. Review, plan, and evaluate voice and network systems, troubleshoot voice and network systems and recommend improvements to the network. Deploy voice services, data and video services, and messaging services such as voice mail, Unified Messaging, email and Instant Messaging (CIPC, CUPC, CUPS). Design, architect and implement enterprise class data and voice networks to support the Cisco Unified Communications, Cisco Unity Connection product suites, and Cisco UCCE. Act as Subject Matter Expert in the design, implementation and operation of Cisco voice infrastructure. Perform network design and continuing improvement, installation and software version control/revision on all network equipment. Install, configure and maintain Cisco networking hardware such as IOS based Catalyst LAN Switches, Wireless Access Points, Cisco etc. Ensure high availability, reliability, and optimal performance of network systems and services. Monitor performance and provide capacity analysis/planning. Evaluate new technologies and support decision-making process and long-term technical direction. Provide project and vendor management as needed.
REQUIREMENTS: Masters degree in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering or related field, and 3 years of professional experience in the job offered or related capacity(ies). Alternatively, accepting Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering or related field, followed by at least 5 years of progressively responsible experience, in the job offered or related capacity(ies).
Must be able to be part of a 24x7x365 on call rotation.
Experience must include:
1. At least 3 years of Network Engineering experience
2. Hands on experience with Cisco Voice Call Manager 8.x 9.x, Cisco Unity Connection 8.x 9.x, and Cisco UCCE 9.x
3. Cisco ICM Enterprise development and deployment experience, including scripting, configuration and call routing
4. IP-IVR, CVP integration design and deployment
5. Understand and experience with SIP, PRI, SCCP protocol
6. Hands on experience with layer 2 protocols like STP, VTP or Cisco switching. Routing protocols like OSPF and EIGRP
7. Strong ability to identify, determine and document customer requirements
