Software Engineer - Computer Vision Information Technology (IT) - Sunnyvale, CA at Geebo

Software Engineer - Computer Vision

Description:We are seeking engineers and scientists interested in a fast-paced design-test-learn life cycle for innovative computer vision projects for space. Utilizing world-class space development and test facilities, LM seeks to engineer the next generation of robust, autonomous space vehicle perception and visible navigation solutions across a variety of challenging missions. Desired experience in and/or knowledge of feature detection, tracking, matching, 3D reconstruction from multiple views, optimization for estimation problems, optical calibration, optical radiometry, image simulation, pose estimation, and algorithm implementation in embedded platforms is desired. With an appetite for accepting risk and a drive for innovation, this team intends to employ the latest advances in machine learning, autonomous driving, and deep learning research to meet exciting, emerging customer needs.
In this role, you can expect to be immersed within a talented team of engineers working across a variety of potential roles. Maturation of simulation environments across a range of phenomenologies are utilized for synthetic image generation. Simulation based performance analysis within a closed-loop simulation environment, inclusive of vehicle guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) simulations, demonstrates end-to-end mission capability. Porting C/C+
code to space-industry leading avionics platforms run within real-time hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) environments enables the team to demonstrate platform performance. Test environments involving multiple robots hosting the rendezvous and proximity operation sensor platform and space object mockups enables test-like-you flight autonomous demonstrations to retire risk prior to flight. Within this group, we value employees, their contributions, and work hard to build cohesive teams aligned to meet mission needs.
